IDHub can be used by all stakeholders within an organization, who will need access to specific applications at some point. The CEO may need accounting and sales application access on a high level, whereas door security and a receptionist may require physical access to enter the organization through a touch-pad application, like a fingerprint scanner. That being said, IDHub is used primarily by three types of users:
End-Users
Administrators
Operators
Resource Owners and Certification Managers (coming soon)
User Details
End-Users
An End-User is either an employee, contractor, or manager who works for the organization and who does not have administrator or approval rights. This type of user can perform the below functions:
As an Employee or Contractor (non-manager):
Request and track access to enterprise resources for self and others
Review and follow-up on requested accesses
Add self proxies
Report a problem to support team members
As a Manager:
All functions of an End-User
Take action on tasks to approve requests for access and removals of access
Take action to certify or remove access for a user
*Note: End-Users typically do not require technical expertise to become familiar with the functions within IDHub user interface consoles, and to be able to navigate and manage the applications.
Administrators
An Administrator is an employee who works for the organization and has administrative rights, with the ability to manage IDHub and configure applications, workflows etc. This type of user can perform the below functions:
All functions of an End-User
Setup Email Configuration
Manage Applications, Entitlements, Roles, Certifications, Workflows, Collections, Email Templates, and the Registration Process
View Reports and Analytics
Create Custom Forms
*Note: Administrators require some technical expertise to become familiar with the functions within IDHub user interface consoles, and to be able to navigate and manage the applications.
Operators
Operators are typically highly technical employees who are generally part of an organization's IT Team. This type of user can perform the below functions:
Create a new IDM instance: On-premise users
Install & Register IDHub
Perform Quick Setup of IDHub
Perform Initial Data Load
Configure and Maintain IDHub and services
Schedule Backup & Restoration
Perform IDHub Upgrades
Establish Connections for Applications
Validate Automatic Provisioning
Manage Applications
*Note: Operators require high technical expertise to become familiar with the functions within IDHub user interface consoles, and to be able to navigate and manage the applications.
Upcoming User Base
IDHub is currently a three user-base IDM System. Additional users will be available in the near future:
Resource Owners : these users will be in control of only their added applications
Certification Managers: these users will be in control of only certification related administration
Both users will be a subset of our current administrator functions
